Justin Bieber

When most people hear the name of Justin Bieber, they think of a teenager who has become extremely popular at a very young age. And they are right. Whether a fan or not, everyone knows the Canadian teenage pop-singer. But how much do we really know about this 15 year-old star, to whom success came suddenly and unexpectedly, and is growing every day .

Indeed, Justin Bieber's success story sounds almost like a miracle. When he was 12, he took part in a singing competition in Stratford, Canada. Even though he wasn’t taking singing lessons, and practiced by singing around the house, he took the second place in the competition.  In 2007, he posted dozens of his home-made videos on YouTube to show them to his family and friends, but other people also started to watch them, and the videos received 10 000 000 views. This is how his manager found this future super-star, who, apart from singing, was also a self-taught musician and could play drums, guitar, piano and trumpet.

After flying to US, Usher and Justin Timberlake both wanted to sign a contract with Bieber, but Usher’s deal seemed better and in October of 2008 Bieber officially signed a contract with Usher and  Scooter Braun's new label RBMG and Island Records. In 2009 his first single “One Time” was released, which immediately took the twelfth place in Canadian charts. Soon his album “My World” appeared. The album took the sixth place in American charts, and in the very first week its 137 copies were sold, taking the platinum CD status in Canada. His songs are full of youth and life, and this is probably what attracts the large circle of his fans, which includes not only teenagers, but adults as well.

Justin's main goal is to motivate people with his music, to give them belief and courage that they can achieve anything if they really try. He says that growing up below the poverty line made him stronger. “I think older people can appreciate my music because I really show my heart when I sing, and it’s not corny,” he says. “I think I can grow as an artist and my fans will grow with me.”

So far, Justin Bieber has been the first singer in the history of Billboard charts, whose four singles have ended up in top 40 even before the debut album was released.
